Dachser buys 80% stake in Johnston Logistics

Germany-based Dachser has acquired a 80% stake in Irish firm Johnston Logistics for an undisclosed sum.

Johnston Logistics provides end to end contract logistics solutions for the customers.

The company is specialized in shipments of dangerous goods and warehousing services for customers in various industries, including chemical, pharmaceuticals, hardware, plastics, and packaging.

With headquarters in Dublin, the company operates seven sites Ireland.

Johnston Logistics includes three locations in Ireland, comprising of Rathcoole near Dublin, Cork, and Limerick.

The acquisition will allow Dachser to expand its logistics network in northwestern Europe, enabling to offer better services for the customers in the region.

Albert Johnston has been selected as shareholder and managing director of Dachser’s new subsidiary in Ireland.

Johnston has pan-European connections between all European countries with systems and charter freight services, as well as daily connections between Ireland, UK and Europe.

The firm’s warehouse management system (WMS) features RDT barcode scanning, which can provide omplete accuracy and records on all transactions with active reporting options.
