DHL to provide GoGreen services for Denmark's EU presidency

DHL has been selected as the official logistics partner for Denmark’s six-month term holding the Presidency of the European Union.

As per the deal, all Danish Ministries will use DHL's carbon-neutral GoGreen products and services, that helps reduce the direct environmental impact of the meeting activities.

DHL said it had already worked with the Danish government by supporting the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

For the Danish EU Presidency which is running for the first half of this year, DHL Freight will be providing its 'GoGreen' road services for carbon neutral transportation, while DHL Express will offer GoGreen worldwide courier services.

Deutsche Post DHL CEO Frank Appel said it is a great honor for the company to provide its environmentally friendly services to the Danish Ministries.

"We are convinced that our GoGreen products are a perfect match to support the presidency to reach their sustainability goals," Appel said.

With the carbon-neutral GoGreen services, the logistics firm will offset all CO2 emissions associated with the shipping activities of the Danish Presidency by purchasing verified carbon credits that support environmental projects that should counter the amount of emissions generated.
