FedEx Trade Networks opens new office in Lyon, France

FedEx Trade Networks, the freight forwarding arm of FedEx, has opened a new office in Lyon, France, as a part of its ongoing expansion initiative.

The new Lyon office is located outside of the city at the Lyon Saint Exupery Airport, which handles more than 300,000 tons of cargo per annum.

It will also offer the company's customers increased access to major global markets, both inbound and outbound.

In addition to flexible air freight forwarding solutions that uses a variety of value-added services, customers will also benefit from the company's range of ocean service options.

The new office will also help manage the supply chain and control goods in transit from point of origin to final destination.

The company offers customs brokerage, purchase order management with global order logistics, surface transportation, warehousing and distribution are other multimodal solutions.

FedEx Trade Networks country manager of France Pascal Raye said Lyon is an important cargo hub that is strategically positioned in the heart of Europe.

"With our new operations in Lyon, we will be able to provide our customers in the region with the local support they need, while providing comprehensive shipping solutions to our customers around the world who have business in France," Raye said.

The new office marks the third location for the company in the country, where it also has air and ocean freight forwarding offices in Paris and Le Havre.
